Buyer questions · Updated 2026-10-14

How much caviar per person?

Rule of thumb: 0.5 oz (about 15 g) per person for a tasting or canapés, and 1 oz (about 30 g) for a generous serving. That's consistent with the sellers' own guides:

  • Regiis Ova: a 30 g tin "best serves 1–2".
  • Costco (Plaza Osetra): a 2 oz jar serves 2–4.
  • USA Black Caviar: a 100 g tin serves 6–8 as an appetizer, or 3–4 in larger portions.
